What is 1.4542 17-4PH Stainless Steel Quality?
Stainless Steel 1.4542 grade is a precipitation hardening stainless steel. This type of stainless steel contains chromium, nickel and has an optimum blend of properties of martensitic and austenitic stainless-steel grades. This stainless steel quality gains high strength after heat treatment.
It has the following features:
- High tensile strength after heat treatment
- Moderate to good corrosion resistance
- Good machinability in annealed condition
Why use 1.4542 17-4PH Stainless Steel?
This grade shows good corrosion resistance in a variety of environments. Stainless steel quality also has good oxidation resistance. The biggest advantage of precipitation hardened steels, such as stainless-steel grade, is that they can be solution treated in an easily machinable state.
