1.4306 Stainless Steel
All You Need to Know About Austenitic, Corrosion Resistant Stainless Steel X2CrNiMo17-12-2, 1.4306, SUS316L
What is 1.4306 Stainless Steel Grade
The 1.4306-grade stainless steel is a slightly more alloyed version of the 1.4307 stainless steel grade. The 1.4306 steel contains a slightly higher amount of chromium and nickel. For the same reason, this stainless steel grade shows higher corrosion resistance.
The 1.4306-grade stainless steel has the following properties:
- Good corrosion resistance
- Weldable
- Low machinability
Why use 1.4306 Stainless Steel
The 1.4306- stainless steel grade shows good corrosion resistance in natural environments. And due to the low carbon content in the chemical composition, the 1.4306 steel grade will not show any tendency to form chromium carbides. The stainless steel can also be welded easily by using filler material. It can be welded without it too.
What is the chemical composition of 1.4306 stainless steel?
The chemical composition of 1.4306 stainless steel is:
